Challenges event and exhibition industry has to face post Re-start
The business event and exhibition industry is the one that is run at an extensive level worldwide. Undoubtedly, the Exhibition industry helps small businesses to big businesses in promoting their services and brand awareness furthermore, the nation’s economic welfare. Exhibition business works as a knowledge-sharing platform between buyers and sellers.
The trade show industry has been impacted ineptly since the pandemic has outspread; COVID-19
has driven the exhibition industry to bottomward where it has become a challenge to
re-start the trade shows effectively and successfully.
According to
the new unlock-5 guidelines, the Ministry of Home Affairs has granted
permission for re-opening the B2B exhibitions nationwide with effect from 15th
Oct 2020. SOPs will be issued by the
Department of Commerce accordingly.
But will it
be as easy to re-start the trade shows and exhibitions as it would before pandemic?
Different
challenges that the exhibition association may have to encounter now.
Fear of less no. of Participation: Virus pandemic has changed the trade shows utterly; a big loss has been reported due to the cancellation of all the exhibitions because of the pandemic. As per the present state of affairs by dint of pandemic, there may be a fear among participants whether they should visit or not on the other hand, likewise, this battle is going on in exhibition organizers brain what if no one will visit the exhibition?
What if no. of the participants will not be as good as before?
What can be done to make the
situation positive for everyone?
Revenue generation: The Exhibition industry already has been going in a provocation
loss, lately, it has got permission to re-start but the reopening of the exhibition has
become a big challenge. To make this industry sustainable we have to do a lot
of fresh efforts to snapback. To bring back the majority of companies that
beliefs exhibition business has now become a prominent task for the
association of the exhibition. The loss of trust of these industries in trade
shows may lead to revenue downsize. Now it has become angst for the exhibition
associations to re-start the B2B trade show with such a big risk where
probability is of no revenue or less revenue due to fewer participants. Since
many of the companies who used to have participated when exhibitions were running
very successfully has stopped investing in exhibition industries, by the same
token, to continue the sustainability of exhibitions and trade shows it is
significant to make-believe all the participants that re-start can also be as
beneficial as it would even better than this with the positive support, unity
and safety precautions.
Lay off Office staff: Since the pandemic has started, cost-cutting has raised extensively, increment in unemployment caused hugely because
of the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of companies preferred to lay off employees due
to revenue loss now exhibition industries having been suffered for so long got
the approval to restart, however, this new re-start up will go on risk and can
cause cost-cutting at the same time. Due to less investment and revenue staff
will be confined.
Above all challenges are not difficult to win again here we need to be more enthusiastic, and it only can be conquest with audacity and patience.
